Sureste Tango Trio
Angel
Garcia Arnés
(guitar)
Witek
Kornacki (clarinet,
saxophon)
Guido Jäger (double-bass)
Three musicians got together
to play their tango.They told
their stores just with clarinet,
guitar and contrabass.
Sureste Tango Trio ("Sureste"-southeast)
represent not only the origin
of the musicians, but also the influences,
which the tango is being subjected too.
The
musicians span a bridge
from classical music to jazz,
as
did Astor Piazzolla.
The
motivation behind the trio's work
is
to want to maintain the feeling of home within
the unfamiliar and to express
this feeling through the music.
Angel
Garcia Arnés
(guitar) was born in Spain and lives today in Hamburg.
He studied classical guitar
and deliberately concentrated on Iberian and Argentinan music.
The Sureste Tango Trio is his musical home country.
He experiments within the
unusual line-up for the formation with a whole range of sound
possibilities, and the arrangements unmistakeably, carry his signature.
Witek
Kornacki (clarinet) was also born in Poland, but lives today
in Switzerland.
After studying clarinet in
Gdansk he made a name for himself through his individual style
of interpretation, and his musical work for various theater ensembles.
By moving to Switzerland he
made the inevitable contact with tango. He developed a sensitive
feel for sound facettes of the clarinet through his intensive
dealing with the music of Klezmer.
